Creating a new software product is a hard piece of work.
Want to find out why we do this? And how?
This article will give you some insights into our hearts and souls…
Our mission
Our vision is to create an awesome piece of software – and establish it as a leading authoring tool for AR presentations. Thereby, we want to make AR available even for smaller companies, organizations, designers and artists who could otherwise not afford it. We believe in the force of inspiring visualizations and presentations. That way ARaction can provide new forms of conveying information to the audience, contribute to decision making processes, and be a powerful tool for digitalization in general.
Our approach
We follow a holistic approach in everything we do. (At least we try to.) That’s why we do not forget that every piece of technology should meet people’s real needs instead of being just a fancy end in itself. In practice that means that we support meaningful political and cultural projects wherever we can. We treat colleagues, customers and competitors with respect – and as human beings, not just as stakeholders. And we will lead ARaction in a revolutionary way that overcomes old hierarchical business styles and the insanity of meritocracy. The new strategy for successfully leading a team or a company in the 21th century will be “sense and respond” instead of “predict and control”. “Leading” for us no longer means “framing and enforcing rules” but stands for the art of facilitating decision making processes and creating room for growth.
(Even some large corporations slowly start to realize that they have to change their old paradigms. Find out more about so called “Teal organizations” in Frederic Laloux’s awesome book “Reinventing organizations”.)
Our ambitious vision
The world is rapidly changing. When we watched “Back to the Future Part II” two decades ago, we did not believe that such a thing as Augmented Reality could be really here in 2017. True, there are no hover boards on our streets yet, but all the other stuff like internet and smartphones have pretty much turned daily life upside down, haven’t they?
But those changes are not limited to the physical world – they change the way we communicate, think, organize ourselves, interact with each other… maybe even the way we feel and love. Yet we can not say if these changes will be “good” or “bad” in the long run. But as a matter of fact, they are happening.
We believe it does not hurt if some people with strong ethical guidelines take part in this virtual game as creative and proactive players. That is why ARaction will always be working on the answer to the question where digitalization, augmentation and virtualization might lead mankind in the end.
Nice, but sounds a bit cheesy?
Well, that’s the thing about manifestos of this kind.
And you’re right: in the end we’re still just a nerdy little tech startup. 😉
But maybe you should be patient with us – we’re just getting started…
